SG-1 Friendathon goes live in one week!

It's hard to believe, but we're only a week away from releasing our first story from the queue -- assuming, of course, that everyone gets their stories submitted on time, :) With ten fics already waiting in the queue and lots more being written/betaed/frantically contemplated, it's looking very exciting.

A few reminders for you:

Detailed instructions on how to submit your story can be found here.

Beta seekers/volunteers can comment here.

We'll be releasing stories from the queue at the rate of one per day, in the order in which the stories are submitted. Most stories have been submitted over at LJ, not here, but the mods will try to post links to the LJ entries each day so that DW participants don't miss out. And, of course, there will be a master post when the ficathon ends.

Two new tidbits:

If you've chosen to have your story on your own journal and submitted your entry as headers and a link (which is perfectly fine), the mods will e-mail you to let you know when your entry will clear the queue, so you'll have time to make your fic accessible by unlocking the entry.

After some discussion, the mods have decided to allow Ficathon Frenzy after all the regular stories from the ficathon have already been posted. We estimate that this won't happen until late August/early September, but at that time, the comm will be thrown open to fics of any length based on any of the unclaimed prompts. They will still have to be gen, but there will be no claiming of prompts and no minimum length requirements. So if you've thought of joining the ficathon but weren't sure you could satisfy the criteria, we hope you'll enjoy us for Ficathon Frenzy!

Perfect timing on LJ's data center screwup + DDoS attacks, huh?

Plan B:

BTW, there is no character/word limit on a DreamWidth post, so long stories don't have to be divided across separate entries.

I don't see it as "pushing" if you notify the email list that DW codes are available while LJ's experiencing site access problems. I use DW to back up my LJ posts.

(If I could move all of fandom from LJ & DW to WordPress, I would. It's a much stabler, more user-friendly, more powerful blogging platform.)
